One of the key agenda items will be addressing hate speech on campus. The LSLC will review incidents and discuss potential initiatives to promote a more inclusive and respectful environment for all students. Additionally, a proposal for Roosevelt’s protocol on handling these issues will be presented.
The meeting will also include updates from various committees, including Professional Development, Restorative/Discipline Practices, and the School Use of Equipment/Instructional Materials. An important budget update will be provided by Principal Ben Gertner.
Another topic under discussion is the school’s new cell phone policy, with feedback on its first week of implementation. The meeting will conclude with a look at upcoming agenda items and a brief public comment period, where attendees can share their thoughts and suggestions.
The LSLC meetings are an important opportunity for the Roosevelt community to collaborate and ensure the school remains a supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment for all students. All staff, students, and families are encouraged to participate and stay engaged.
